HerI know in my kindergarten classroom, the beginning of each day is full of excitement and organized chaos. Especially at back-to-school time, I like to give my students activities that help foster their independence and love of learning that allows me time to do all the tasks that start each day. One way I do this is with morning work tubs.  Each group is given a tub with one activity and all the supplies needed for completing the task successfully.  Some students get fine motor skill activities while others get counting or letter activities.  The tasks are meant to be something the child can complete on their own.  This allows me the time to greet my other students at the door, take attendance, help open breakfasts or help a child order their lunch on their chromebook.

Paper worksheets were my go to, but I got overwhelmed with all the checking papers and correcting the skills and then having to make more copies of the paper for my students to attempt again.   Then I decided to go with more hands on activities.  Activities that could easily be checked and  corrected with no copying involved. So I created these fun collections of morning activities for my students and they loved them.  They eagerly would grab their tub and begin working on counting objects, cutting or tracing lines and working on letters with smiles and enthusiasm.

Implementing these tubs is so easy for me with very little prep.  I copy in full color, laminate and cut them out. I add counters, dry-erase markers and anything else they will need. Here are the ones I used for Back-to-school-tubs:https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Kindergarten-Morning-Work-Tubs-Back-To-School-8085182 when we begin at the beginning of August each year and when the month is winding down, I begin prepping the next month of tubs. All of my morning-work-tubs for 1st semester can be found in this bundle link:https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Morning-Work-Tubs-Bundle-1-8157882
